Reflection Questions

1. Where are you most tempted to define “flourishing” by what is temporary—success, comfort, influence, money, health, or recognition—rather than by your relationship to God?

2. Psalm 92 calls the LORD “Most High” and says that He is “on high forever.” How should God’s eternal supremacy change the way you respond when evil seems powerful or when those who oppose God appear to prosper?

3. Are you regularly declaring God’s lovingkindness and faithfulness—morning and night—or have gratitude and praise become occasional rather than habitual in your life?

4. How are you giving beautiful expression to your praise of God? What gifts, abilities, words, creativity, or work has God given you that you can intentionally turn back toward Him for His glory?

5. When you feel weak, dried out, discouraged, or opposed, where do you instinctively look for strength and refreshment? What would it look like for you to look instead to God Most High?

6. Psalm 92 says the righteous are planted in God’s presence and continue bearing fruit even in old age. Where is your life planted, what kind of fruit is it producing, and does your life increasingly testify that “the LORD is upright” and that He is your Rock?

Takeaway: Do not be deceived by temporary flourishing; find your joy, strength, and rest in the God who remains on high forever.
