What to Expect

WELCOME

What Should You Expect?

Gospel. Safety. Time.

Gospel.

The Truth of the work of God in Jesus Christ to bring about redemption for sinners in need of grace.

Safety.

An environment of community where the gospel is central and thus there is ability to know and understand each other's human condition.

Time.

Growing in grace does not happen overnight. So our church knows there is a need for time as we grow into the image of our Savior who has saved us.

WHO WE ARE

We are a Bible-Teaching, Gospel-Centered Church, looking to make Jesus known in New England.

The mission of Grace Gospel Church is to obey the commission Christ gave to His Church from the beginning, to bring glory to God by making disciples. The life of every Christian is to be a life of discipleship to the glory and praise of God (Matt. 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 10:31).

WORSHIP SERVICES

Our Worship Services are currently held on Sunday Mornings at 10:30am. Our worship in music presents contemporary songs and older hymns with lyrics that are rich in truth. We practice expository preaching in order to faithfully communicate the meaning of the the Bible. You can listen to past sermons here.

We offer childcare for children during worship services, and Adult Sunday School classes for all ages during the Sunday School hour at 9am. We encourage families to worship together, so children are welcome in the worship services.

We have many other opportunities for discipleship and fellowship including Youth Ministry, College MinistryMen’s and Women’s Ministries, and more.

DISTINCTIVES

The church is built on the unchangeable truth of God's Word as we have set forth in our Statement of Faith to articulate what we believe, teach and to guard against false teaching. Our Statement of Faith reflects our historic biblical beliefs.

Grace Gospel Church is elder-led by biblically qualified men who serve as our pastors and under-shepherds of Jesus Christ our Chief Shepherd (1 Tim. 3; 1 Pet. 5). Our deacons are biblically qualified men fulfilling their roles as officers within our local church (Acts 6; 1 Tim 3).

The Bible is central to the life of the church. All of Scripture is inspired by God, and the full counsel of God’s Word must be preached (Acts 20:27; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). It is through the ministry of God’s Word that people believe the Gospel and are transformed into the image of Christ (Rom. 10:17, Rom. 12:1-2; Eph. 4:11-16). We believe that it is authoritative, sufficient, clear, and necessary.

We believe that the church has been given two ordinances that we should regularly practice: The Lord's Supper and Baptism.  These are means of worship for new covenant believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Baptism is an ordinance symbolizing our union with Christ in His death and resurrection. (Rom. 6:4)  The Lord's Supper is a family meal for new covenant believers in Jesus Christ that proclaims His work for us on the cross and our expectation for future glory. (1 Cor. 11:23-26

HISTORY

Grace Gospel Church began as a church plant in 1978 in Fall River meeting in the living room of one our current members.

As God added people to the church, the church moved into a building on Grove Street only until, by the providence of God, the church obtained land to build a church building and location on Sharps Lot Road. In 2015, Grace Gospel Church made the transition from Sharps Lot Road to our current location on County Street in Somerset, MA.

Over the years we have continued to see God’s grace as His Gospel brings sinners to salvation and as His Word sanctifies His Church (Rom. 1:16; John 17:17).

In all these things, may Christ be our all in all, and may our boasting be only in His cross.

“Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” (Psalm 115:1).
